I love this aspect of the game as it gives players a ton to think about with each potential party member. This means that building your party requires you to consider both the characters that will get along with how you plan to roleplay your character as well as working well together mechanically. The games feature a diverse cast of characters with their histories, personalities, goals, and playstyles. In Pillars of Eternity, players’ party members are critical. Their RPGs feature some of the best writing in the entire RPG genre, with their Pillars of Eternity series being a personal favorite of mine.
